Atlas Copco releases DM 30 II for mid-range rotary blasthole market

December 11, 2013

Atlas Copco is pleased to introduce the latest in the rugged and reliable Drillmaster (DM) line. The DM 30 Mark II is created from the same DNA that make the DM 45 and DML the drill of choice worldwide for safe, efficient, high production blast hole drilling.
Manufactured in Nanjing, China, the DM 30 II is suited for both rotary and DTH applications with low and high pressure compressor options. The component layout and spacious electric over hydraulic cab are taken directly from its big brothers in the DM line. Hydraulic system components, feed system and the rotary head have been proven by over 28 years of use on the DM 30.

Upgrades on the Mark II include a robust I beam frame, increased decking and component access, and improved rod handling and breakout. Standard features now include auto thread lube, head up tram interlock and grease manifold, plus a wider range of options created from customer special requests.

The DM 30 II has enjoyed success with pre-release units drilling for gold in PNG, coal in Indonesia, contract drillers in South Africa and copper in Mongolia. The unit is now available for sale in all non-Tier 4 emissions countries.

"Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions established manufacturing in Nanjing, China with a goal to develop a world class, affordable product for the mineral extraction industry. After five years and 52 units operating in difficult and remote areas, we are pleased to offer the DM 30 II for rotary or DTH drilling of blast holes to the mining and construction industry"
