Get to know: Malin Lindberg
Program Specialist for Training
Over two decades of learning and collaboration
Malin Lindberg has been with Epiroc for more than 20 years. Her current role is Program Specialist for Training, but her responsibilities stretch across a wide field. From handling customer requests and leading development projects to testing simulators and managing finances, Malin’s work blends both technical focus and people-oriented thinking.
She describes herself less as a traditional specialist and more as a product owner for a unique and highly specialized training area: simulators. These tools help grow competence across the organization and at customer sites worldwide.
Her days are rarely the same. A typical morning starts with checking support inquiries from customer centers. The rest of the day might involve meetings with simulator suppliers, engineering teams, or developers, and often some hands-on testing of equipment before it's sent out for use.
Building competence through hands-on tools
"My current role gives me a great opportunity to combine my passion for both products and people. The simulators are a small and niche product area, which makes it possible for me to take part in each step of the life cycle—from idea to development, production, and support."
Knowledge, networks, and new perspectives
After more than two decades at Epiroc, Malin still finds energy in the variety of tasks, the contact with customer centers around the world, and the collaborative spirit within the company.
She believes new colleagues can benefit greatly from learning beyond their own role—by getting to know the structure of the organization, understanding how different functions connect, and, perhaps most practically, by learning all the internal abbreviations.
Outside of work, Malin enjoys turning unexpected items into useful objects. One of her creations includes a lamp made from a book and a kitchen shelf crafted from forks, knives, and spoons. When she’s not solving technical problems or building something clever at home, you might find her watching The Bridge, a Nordic crime series she recommends for its gripping story and strong characters.
Her go-to mood booster? Zara Larsson’s “Can’t Tame Her”—though her enthusiastic dancing sometimes embarrasses her daughter.
