SmartROC options
Rig Control System (RCS)
RCS platform is the core for onboard automation solutions for surface drill rigs. Since 1998 it is a well-proven solution for safer and more effective operations, and for higher productivity. All RCS hardware and software is designed, maintained and supported by Epiroc.
Auto Rod Handling System (Auto RHS)
An automated rod handling system, which allows to add drill rods manually or automatically to reach the desired depth. The solution supports sustainable and consistent operations, increases average productivity and effective life of rock drilling tools, provides more comfort for an operator. Standard on all SmartROC rigs.
Auto pick-up of drill rods
A part of an automated rod handling system that allows to pick up drill rods automatically after the desired drilling depth is reached. Increases productivity and safety, and reduces the stress on rock drilling tools and the entire machine. Standard on all SmartROC rigs with DTH and COPROD drilling method.
AutoDrill
A part of intelligent RCS algorithms to perform drilling operations with higher degree of automation, using a combination of features such as Auto-RHS and Auto pick-up of drill rods. Up to 100% of the hole drilling cycle in automatic mode with high consistency and reliability of operations.
COP Logic
A set of intelligent RCS algorithms which optimize drilling process and help the rig overcome changing ground conditions. Ensures anti-jamming and higher protection to rock drilling tools against damaging shock impact in sand pockets and voids. Standard on all SmartROC rigs with Tophammer and COPROD drilling method.
Auto Positioning of the Feed
This smart feature works as semi-automatic aligning of a rig feed, it reduces time and improves accuracy of rig positioning. Significantly contributes to the quality of drill plan execution and further blasting, resulting in better quality rock fragmentation.
Hole Navigation System (HNS
A great assistant system for an operator that guides to a right hole position on a drill plan. Reduces non-drilling time and improves positioning precision. Eliminates both manually marking and surveying of holes’ position. Works in any time of the day, in any weather conditions.

AutoLevel
Minimize the time it takes to level and delevel, enabling the drill to spend more time drilling. With Autolevel you can safely and efficiently level the drill per machine specifications.
AutoDrill 2
Set the target depth of a hole, and with the push of a few buttons, the machine will drill the hole fully autonomously. AutoDrill 2 allows for safer and more productive operations.
Hole Navigation System HNS
Upload a drill plan into the drill rig and navigate to the correct collaring point without having to mark the holes. HNS enables operators to drill quality holes by providing accurate X, Y, Z coordinates.
