Introducing Powerbit for T35 and T38 threads
In December of 2015, Atlas Copco Secoroc introduced an all-new bit range for tophammer surface drilling – Powerbit. The first thread system to reach the market was T45. Since the introduction, Powerbit T45, T51, T-WiZ60, ST58 and ST68 have met, and surpassed all goals and expectations. Service life is improved by up to 75 % – at significantly higher penetration rates.
Powerbit T35 and T38 for construction drilling
Now, we introduce Powerbit T35 (48-64 mm) and T38 (60-127 mm), mainly designed for construction drilling. T35 and T38 have all the same characteristics that have made Powerbit so successful. The bit shape is optimised. The bit body steel is harder and stronger. And the patented Enduro Extra button surface treatment technology and Trubbnos button shape are developed for outstanding strength and wear resistance. A special feature of the 64 mm and the smaller T35 and T38 bits is that the face has three gauge button islands. Thereby, larger peripheral buttons can be fitted for longer intervals between regrinds and maximum service life.
The 64 mm retrac Powerbit with T38 thread and Trubbnos buttons has been tried and tested in demanding road construction in the Middle East. Compared to reference bits, service life was improved by up to 50 % in a variety of rock formations. We expect Powerbit T35 and T38 to be every bit as effective as the already introduced Powerbit thread systems that have proven to give exceptional performance.
A complete Powerbit range for tophammer surface drilling
With the Powerbit T35 and T38 ranges, Epiroc Drilling Tools now has a complete assortment of Powerbits for surface drilling. This concludes our efforts towards a more compact and versatile tophammer bit assortment. With 25 % fewer bits, the Powerbit range makes bit selection that much easier for you. The first T38 Powerbits were introduced in November 2017, and the complete range for T38 will be released successively during the coming 6 months. The T35 Powerbit range is released in the middle of 2018. The Powerbit range gives you an unbeatable drill string, where our shank adapters and drill rods are already known to be top-of-the-line.
