Rotary Epsilon bit

Product description

Epiroc’s Pit Viper 271 is the drill that put the Pit Viper series on the map. It operates in almost every surface mining application there is and can be configured in many different ways for a wide range of single-pass rotary tricone and down-the-hole drilling operations.

In rotary drilling, the selection of a purpose suited drill string component is vital for optimized productivity. The V-LOK™ shock sub and clamp system creates a secure connection between the sub and the drill string, increasing safety and productivity by eliminating welding, grinding and the need for a hot work permit.

Epiroc's rotary drills are designed with increased penetration rates and quality drilling. By efficiently transmitting the rotational torque down to the drill bit the drill string lowers total drill operating costs, extending the service life and increasing safety and operator efficiency.

Efficiency meets reliability

High quality materials (Teamalloy) combined with state-of-the-art manufacturing means our equipment holds up to uninterrupted heavy duty blast hole drilling with superior product life.

Three main benefits

More drilling meters per day – absorbing the vibrations from the bit improves transmission energy from the rotary head to the drill bit for straighter holes and increased productivity.

More straighter holes - centralizing the drill string within the hole and ensuring axial alignment top to bottom leads to a longer and more effective bit life with higher productivity and availability of equipment during the drilling cycle.

Less replacement parts and a longer service life - with less wear on the  drill rig’s rotary drive, mast and power train, and reduced friction as the drill string passes through the drill rig deck, service life is extended.
