Scraper Winch CPS Solution:
The Scraper Winch CPS is part of the 4th generation Titan CAS designed for mining applications.
Scraper Winches are one of the leading causes of injuries and fatalities in underground mining. In many hard rock mining activities, scraper winches are used to move ore from the blasting area to areas where the ore can be accessed by or loaded onto rail-bound vehicles. Depending on the specific scenario and mining method, multiple scraper winches can be used to move ore before it reaches a point where it can be transported. The scraper path is also flexible and is often moved to accommodate the advancing blasting face.
The Scraper Winch CPS can detect Vehicle-to-Person (VTP). The collision warning and avoidance information is displayed on an LCD screen in a user-friendly manner to inform the operator of the possible collision.
The Scraper Winch CPS will create a field with different zones that cover the dangerous areas. critical zone which will immediately stop the winch when a pedestrian enters, whereas the yellow zone will only warn the operator of the presence of a pedestrian. The safe zones on the other hand will allow the operator to be inside but will stop the winch as soon as the operator leaves that zone.
The Scraper Winch CPS HMI110 is designed to provide operator management functionality, allowing only specific individuals to operate the winch. It includes features that require the operator to verify the correct functionality of the HMI before use, such as:
- Operator license management using a clock card and biometric scanner (fingerprint)
- Utilisation and service counter
- Start-up tests
- Pre-use tests
The data from each Scraper Winch CPS system can be viewed in the control room. This data can be used to check if a system is functioning properly. The control room will be updated with data when the logs have been extracted from each system and uploaded. In cases where a mine has Wi-Fi, the logs will be continuously uploaded to provide real-time analysis.
