As a result of our commitment to combat climate change and contribute to zero-emissions operations in our customers’ operations, Epiroc is in the process of rolling out climate footprint data for our key products.
There are currently ongoing initiatives to establish Product Category Rules for certain products. However, due to the absence of established Product Category Rules for the industry, the Environmental Product Declaration standard does not apply. Consequently, comparing product climate footprint reports from different Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is challenging due to variations in methodology, system boundaries, and input data.
Carbon footprint/LCA principles according to ISO 14040/44:2006 |
Please note the actual carbon footprint from products differ. Epiroc has a production and supply chain which covers the globe, meaning that specific carbon footprints differ. To get a complete carbon footprint from a product, known as cradle-to-grave, is complex.
Comparing carbon footprint/LCA results listed here with result from another product result is only valid if the assumptions, scope, and context of that LCA study are equivalent.
